Foote Print Winery was one of the three wineries I was fortunate enough to come across on my recent first visit to the Temecula wine country. While Rancho California Road is probably the main road for wineries in Temecula, GlenOaks Road is another road with wineries and branches off Rancho California. Not too far on GlenOaks is Foote Print. Foote Print is a small (1000 cases per year) family-owned winery with its own vineyard and a tasting room in the barn out back. The owner, Deane Foote, is the winemaker, wine server, cook, busboy and bottle washer. He’s an interesting guy who keeps the tasting room alive and fun. The wines here are very good and there are a wide variety of reds, but no whites. The winery has a great down-home rustic feel to it and is definitely a place you should check out in Temecula. As with all smaller wineries, if you taste a wine you like make sure to buy it because the next time around there’s a good chance it’ll be gone.
