San Antonio Winery is the only winery in Los Angeles proper. In the early to mid 20th century, downtown Los Angeles was wineries and vineyards that had been planted by Spanish missionaries. At one time there were over 100 wineries that lined the Los Angeles River. With the development of the city of Los Angeles, the grape fields were replaced with buildings and roads. But the San Antonio Winery has remained since 1917. I really like this place. It has a lot of character and they have a nice tasting room and gift shop. They also have a great restaurant. The wines are really good and are carried by distributors all over the US. They also have a nice tour of the winery. The winery is located on the east side of downtown LA near Chinatown. If you are in the Los Angeles area, I definitely recommend checking out the San Antonio Winery.
