AGUA DULCE WINERY

About 45 miles west, then north, then east from downtown Los Angeles, in Santa Clarita, are the vineyards and winery of Agua Dulce.  Agua Dulce Vineyards are in the hills.  When I drove out there I didn’t know what to expect.  I met with Cathy, the owner, and tasted several of their wines.  Let me just say this; I was very, very surprised and impressed.  They grow their own grapes and have a variety of wines.  I was especially impressed with their selection of reds (I know, biased!) and when I left it felt good to know that good stuff like this was not too far from my home.  If you’re in LA, make the trek.  It’s worth it.

  In SEPTEMBER, in the NORTHERN HEMISPHERE, in the VINEYARD, harvesting takes place. In the WINERY, winemaking equipment and additions must be ready to go. In the SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE, in the VINEYARD, ploughing takes place. In the WINERY, wines that are meant to be drunk young are bottled.
