Pindar was one of the more pleasant experiences I’ve had visiting a winery.  The vineyard is located approximately 90 miles east of Manhattan on Long Island.  The tasting room is good size with friendly people and a diverse selection of good wines from light and fruity to ice wine to full-bodied.  I particularly enjoyed their signature red wine “Mythology.”  Pindar is a family owned vineyard with scenic grounds and a great place to visit for tasting or one of their many events.

  In SEPTEMBER, in the NORTHERN HEMISPHERE, in the VINEYARD, harvesting takes place. In the WINERY, winemaking equipment and additions must be ready to go. In the SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE, in the VINEYARD, ploughing takes place. In the WINERY, wines that are meant to be drunk young are bottled.
